The desktop program for macOS and Windows
SCERNETTA DDD is on-prem software, you install it on an ordinary workstation running macOS or Windows. In it you open the .ddd files, read the analysis and export a report when you need one. You do not have to create an account, because nothing is sent to a server.
Every download together
A card file only covers the period that was still on the card at the time of the download. Scernetta merges all of a driver's downloads, even where they overlap, and picks for each day the file with the most complete data. The result is one continuous history across the whole month.
Shifts and times
From the activities on the card the program derives the individual shifts and adds up driving time, working time, availability and rest per day, per week and across the two-week period. Every shift is listed on its own, so you can look up where a total came from.
Violations in two views
Violations are assessed twice. The first view follows the way the established programs calculate, because inspectors and dispatchers know those results. The second sticks strictly to the wording of the regulation. In most cases both arrive at the same result, and where they do not, you see it in the program and decide for yourself.
Forecasts
For the current day the program works out how much driving time is left today, when the next rest has to begin at the latest and how much of the weekly driving time remains. The forecast rests only on the data that is in the files.
Gaps without a card
If the card was not inserted, the analysis shows “not assessable, card not inserted” for that period. The program does not calculate a violation for such a period, because there is nothing to base it on. The gap itself stays visible though, since an inspection will ask about exactly that.
Reports
Reports come as PDF and as CSV. If you like, you attach a source manifest that lists for every day which file the data came from. That is useful when somebody wants to know months later how a particular number came about.
Legal basis
The checks follow Regulation (EC) No 561/2006 and Directive 2002/15/EC. For drivers in Switzerland, ARV 1 and ARV 2 apply instead, and the program knows those as well.
On-prem, on your computer
The program works entirely on the computer it is installed on, which is what on-prem means. The card files are not transferred anywhere, which is also why there is no user account to create.
Several files become one history
The graphic shows the principle with made-up data. Three downloads each cover part of the month, merged they give the whole month, and the two days without a card are marked as not assessable.

Each further download adds a piece, and the files overlap at the edges.
Scernetta lays all downloads over each other and takes, for every day, the file with the most complete data. That is how the whole month comes together, and the strip underneath shows which file each day came from.
On days without a card there is no data. The analysis says “not assessable” there, and no violation is made out of it.
What Scernetta does not do
Without data there is no assessment, so there is no verdict either on periods when the card was not inserted. The program is no substitute for legal advice, and at an inspection the official records are always what counts.
There is also no cloud version that syncs data between computers. If you want to pass an analysis on, you export a report and send that.
